Timothy Kovacs - Education Leader and Licensed Family Therapist

A dedicated education leader and licensed marriage and family therapist, Timothy Kovacs serves as the assistant director of early childhood education at Baldwin Park Unified School District, a role he has held since 2010. In this capacity, he oversees program managers, health managers, and compliance supervisors, ensuring the successful coordination of mental health, nutrition, case management, and enrollment services. Timothy Kovacs' responsibilities also include grant writing, community assessments, and supervising clinical trainees in collaboration with Pacific Oaks, Hope University, and Azusa Pacific University.

Mr. Kovacs earned both bachelor and master’s degrees in psychology from California State University, Fullerton, where he graduated magna cum laude and remained on the dean’s list throughout his graduate studies. He became a licensed marriage and family therapist in 2005. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at Azusa Pacific University since 2005.

He is an active member of the Data Work Group for First 5 LA, where he supports initiatives that enhance early childhood development across the region. In his free time, he enjoys baseball, theater, and traveling.
